Airfield Farm Dundrum
We spent today in the fabulous Airfield Farm, Dundrum. I have to admit that I had not heard of the farm until a friend of mine started working there and highly recommend we have a visit. I am always looking for fun family day activities especially now that Cara is running around and so interested and amazed by everything. Cara is such an outdoors girl and after a hard week for our little soldier after being so brave through her operation we really wanted to spoil her rotten and spend some quality time together.
Airfield Farm is literally just a couple minutes past the Dundrum Town Shopping Centre and there is so much to do there. It is so nice when we get some good weather to spend a few hours outdoors. We were given a map at the entrance which we needed as the grounds were surprisingly really big.
There are so many animals at the farm like cows, hens, donkeys, sheep, chickens and the staff do feeding time throughout the day which Cara absolutely loved.
There is also a Heritage House with tours, stunning gardens, a garden centre, pond, coffee shop, restaurant and lots lots more than just a farm. There is something to suit everyone.
We visited the restaurant for a bite to eat and were certainly not disappointed. The staff were super friendly and came straight down with crayons and colouring sheets for Cara. I would advise booking in advance as it was quite busy and we were waiting a while. For anyone else with small kids a fifteen minute wait can feel like two hours.
I would highly recommend a visit to the Airfield Farm and we will most definitely be heading back over the summer. For more information and bookings here is a link to the website http://www.airfield.ie/
